Oxbow Bend on the Snake River is a beautiful place of peace and renewal. Especially in the early morning during the autumn when the sun breaks through. I believe this is one of the most beautiful settings in the natural world. One that would satisfy Pascal’s timeless idea that you should always “keep something beautiful in your mind.” A place you can go in really difficult times. Or as the Irish poet, O’Donohue, says, “if you can keep some little contour [of a beautiful place] you can glimpse sideways at now and again, you can endure great bleakness.”
